The purpose of this handout is to introduce using SQL from the Oracle database management system (DBMS). It is intended to be supplemented by a lecture course.

Commands to try out are in BOLD UPPERCASE:

e.g., SELECT * FROM DEPT;

There will be exercises for you to try out too
