RSS - RDF Site Summary aka Really Simple Syndication

'RSS'

The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a family of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications which integrate various applications and events using XML as an interchange syntax.

An RSS document called a "feed", "web feed", or "channel", contains either full text or a summary of content from a linked website. It is an easy way to keep up with new information on the user's chosen websites.

In 1997 Dave Winer at UserLand designed the[http://www.scripting.com/davenet/1997/12/15/scriptingNewsInXML.html scriptingNews format. In 1999 Netscape designed RSS 0.90 for use with my.netscape.com, which also supported scriptingNews format.
